Welcome to the APTE homepage

This is the website for research related to the use of Computer Algebra Systems (CAS) technology in the teaching and learning of algebra at the secondary school level, conducted by a team of researchers based primarily at the Mathematics Department of the Université du Québec à Montréal, but also including collaborators and consultants from Mexico, the U.S.A., France, and the Netherlands.

This website, which is in the process of development, currently provides access to the CAS tasks that were designed by the team for its 2003-2007 project. The tasks come in a student version, a student version with solutions, and a teacher version. They are available in English, French, and Spanish. Some of the publications that have resulted from the project are to be found by clicking on Publications.

Links to other related projects and tasks are also provided.

Any researchers or teachers who would like to share on this website the CAS activities that they have designed for use in high school algebra should contact Carolyn Kieran.
